Morgan Wallen Foundation joins forces with Greater Good Music to provide Thanksgiving dinners for 2,000 families

NASHVILLE, Tennessee – Increasing inflation and unusually high food prices have made it difficult for families to afford Thanksgiving this year, making it a challenging year to make ends meet. Residents of Tennessee and Kentucky were particularly hard struck by the devastating floods that sadly claimed lives and obliterated thousands of houses. In order to partner for a gift during the holiday season, Tennessee-based nonprofit Greater Good Music sought supporter and musician/entertainer Morgan Wallen and his Foundation. Together, they provided whole Thanksgiving feasts and turkeys to 2,000 low-income families this week.

More than 300 Middle Tennessee families were waiting in line at Waverly High School on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022, in Waverly, Tennessee, where a major flood decimated the community last year and locals have been labouring to rebuild. Families affected by the flood tragedy near Nashville were given turkeys, stuffing, and fresh fruits and vegetables by volunteers from Joseph’s Storehouse food organisation.

Additionally, food deliveries were made to other Tennessee communities, including Sneedville in Eastern Tennessee, the hometown of Wallen, where 450 families received Thanksgiving meal boxes. This past weekend saw the distributions at the neighbourhood food banks and high schools. Additionally, free holiday dinners were given to 600 people in Pike County, Kentucky, who lost their houses in the local flood this summer.
