Flood-hit New South Wales to receive targeted disaster relief

NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia – As part of the jointly financed Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements, small companies and not-for-profit organisations impacted by the ongoing flooding in New South Wales can now apply for recovery grants of up to $50,000.

Numerous businesses that have been affected by flooding since August have been recognised by the NSW Government and will likely require considerable clean-up and repair work.

“We know this repeated, relentless, flooding is very tough on people, and we want them to know we will be there to support them now – and as they continue to recover,” said Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese.

To ensure streamlined, flexible, and immediate funding to support local economic and social recovery, Local Government Recovery Grants of $1 million will also be extended to an additional 46 councils in the local government areas where the most recent storm and flood event has been declared a disaster.
